From the moment you step into Encore Boston Harbor, you’re transported into a world of elegance, luxury, and impeccable hospitality. The resort itself evokes the glamour of Las Vegas while maintaining a refined New England sophistication. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create an experience that feels both grand and inviting.
First Impressions: Floral Fantasy & Five-Star Service
Walking into the lobby is an experience in itself. The centerpiece—a breathtaking floral Ferris wheel crafted from thousands of vibrant blooms—creates an unforgettable focal point that immediately sets the tone for the resort. Rich floral displays, sparkling chandeliers, and stunning architectural details surround you at every turn.
What truly elevated our stay was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Traveling with our 13-year-old son for a flag football tournament, we appreciated how welcoming everyone was. From the valet attendants to the bell staff, every interaction felt genuine and attentive. Our bellman took the time to thoroughly explain the room’s features, making us feel immediately comfortable and cared for.

As a seasoned spa enthusiast who has visited countless luxury spas, I can confidently say that The Spa at Encore Boston Harbor ranks among my favorites.
The moment you enter, you’re greeted by an atmosphere of understated opulence. Floor-to-ceiling draperies, exquisite tapestries, elegant sculptures, curated artwork, and soft golden-beige tones create a sense of warmth and tranquility. The design is sophisticated without feeling pretentious—every detail carefully chosen to inspire relaxation.
The spa features separate men’s and women’s facilities connected by a beautifully appointed co-ed relaxation lounge at the center. Plush red lounge chairs, fit for royalty, invite guests to unwind before or after treatments.
Both locker areas are exceptionally well designed, offering luxurious changing rooms, private shower facilities, and spacious vanity areas. The attention to comfort and privacy is remarkable.

One of my favorite features was the waterfall shower. Unlike a traditional rain shower, this powerful cascade feels as though you’re standing beneath a natural waterfall, creating an invigorating sensory experience before entering the thermal facilities.
Throughout the day, guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments including freshly brewed teas, granola, snacks, and the most delicious miso shortbread cookies. Additional smoothies and light bites are available for purchase.
The Yon-Ka CBD Facial: 90 Minutes of Pure Bliss
For my treatment, I selected the 90-minute Yon-Ka CBD Facial, and it was one of the most heavenly spa experiences I’ve ever had.
The treatment begins with a deeply relaxing CBD-infused upper back massage designed to release tension and prepare both mind and body for the facial. It immediately sets the tone for complete relaxation.
The sensory experience throughout the treatment was exceptional. Every product carried beautiful aromatherapeutic notes, while each step felt intentional and luxurious. My skin was thoroughly cleansed, gently exfoliated, intensely hydrated, and left with a healthy, radiant glow.
One detail that particularly excited me as a skincare professional was the use of the Lucas Championnière machine, often referred to simply as the “Lucas Machine.” This classic French skincare device has been used in professional treatment rooms for decades and remains a favorite among many luxury European spas.
The machine creates a fine mist of treatment lotion that continuously hydrates the skin throughout the facial. This gentle vaporization helps soften the skin, enhance hydration levels, improve comfort during extractions, and increase absorption of active ingredients. While many modern devices have entered the skincare market, there’s something special about seeing this timeless piece of equipment still being utilized in a premium facial experience. It speaks to Yon-Ka’s dedication to traditional French skincare techniques and results-driven treatments.
My provider was exceptional—knowledgeable, attentive, and intuitive. She offered education when appropriate while also allowing me the space to fully relax and enjoy the experience. It’s a balance that many therapists strive for but few truly master.
Dining with a View
During our stay, we ventured to Maxie’s on the Water, a short Uber ride from the resort. Traveling with a large group of 11 for the tournament weekend could have been challenging, but the restaurant accommodated us effortlessly as we had to pivot from a smaller more of a to go option.
As the sun began setting over Boston Harbor, we enjoyed beautiful waterfront views and a spectacular sunset that made the evening even more memorable. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed—the perfect complement to our spa getaway.
Casino Excitement & Luxurious Accommodations
After dinner, we returned to Encore and spent some time enjoying the casino. While luck wasn’t necessarily on our side at the craps and roulette tables, we had a fantastic evening soaking in the vibrant energy of the property.
Back in our room, the luxury continued. Even the bathroom felt spa-worthy, featuring a deep soaking tub, a television integrated into the space, premium toiletries, and an oversized glass shower. Every detail reflected the resort’s commitment to comfort and indulgence.

Encore Boston Harbor delivers an exceptional luxury experience from beginning to end. The combination of world-class accommodations, outstanding service, vibrant entertainment, and an extraordinary spa makes it a destination worth revisiting time and time again.
