B. Couture Skin Medspa Review
Your Trusted Guide to Luxury Skin & Wellness Experiences
The Monument Hotel โ Athens, Greece
Date of Visit: September 26, 2024
First Impressions
The Monument Hotel is more than just a place to stayโitโs an experience. Tucked in the heart of Athens, this boutique gem has only nine exquisitely designed rooms, creating an atmosphere of exclusivity and timeless elegance.
Walking through its doors feels like stepping into the pages of Architectural Digest. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, from custom-made design artifacts and art pieces to lush greenery that softens the space. The building itself carries historic charm, originally designed by Ernst Ziller in 1881 and now reimagined with a Michelin 2025 award-winning restoration that blends old-world character with modern sophistication.
The ambiance was serene, the scent of fresh florals subtly present, and the noise level hushedโperfect for unwinding after days of sightseeing. With soaring 9-foot ceilings, a dramatic grand staircase, and romantic touches throughout, it felt like living in a fairytale.
Security was reassuring with traditional key locks that paired authenticity with comfort. Complimentary touches like breakfast, fine wine, and spa access elevated the luxury even further.

Staff & Service
From the moment we arrived, the staff exuded warmth and attentiveness without being overly formal. They happily arranged dining recommendations, walking routes, and even coordinated spa servicesโoutsourced to trusted therapists brought in exclusively for us.
The Spa Experience
Hidden in the hotelโs private basement, the spa felt like our own sanctuary. Unlike larger resort spas, this was intimate and completely privateโreserved just for the two of us.
The design was calming with dimmed lighting, plush treatment beds, and a spacious layout for side-by-side services. Amenities included a steam room, sauna, private changing area, shower, and bathroomโall sparkling clean and beautifully maintained.
It truly felt like having a personal wellness retreat in the middle of Athens.
Services Received
- Treatments:ย 1-hour massage + facial (each)
After days of ferries, flights, steps up to the Acropolis, and endless exploring through Santorini, Paros, and Athens, our bodies needed this reset.
The massage was restorativeโmelting away tension from travelโwhile the facial was gentle, hydrating, and exactly what my skin craved after sun and sea exposure. This wasnโt a clinical-style spa treatment; it was pure indulgence, a hard reset for both body and mind.
Products & Aftercare
The product lines werenโt specifically highlighted during the treatment. While no detailed aftercare instructions were provided, the focus was clearly on immediate relaxation and rejuvenationโwhich we welcomed.
Pricing & Value
For such an exclusive space and personalized experience, pricing was refreshingly reasonable:
$575 USD total for two people (massage + facial, approx. 2 hours).
Considering the privacy, amenities, and luxury of the setting, this felt like excellent value.
Highlights
- Staying at the hotel grants you access to anย exclusive, private spaโa rarity in Athens.
- The experience was perfectly timed on ourย final night in Greece, serving as a recharge before a long flight back to the U.S.
- A seamless blend ofย historic architecture and modern indulgenceย made this one of the most memorable hotel spa visits Iโve had.

Areas for Improvement
- Highlighting product lines and providing a bit more structured aftercare could elevate the experience even further.
- Adding soft music in the spa may have enhanced the ambiance during treatments.
