HYDRAFACIAL MD.

A new treatment that has revolutionized the skin care industry over the past couple years is Hydrafacial. Rivaling traditional microdermabrasion, this treatment has gained popularity due to the modern technological feel with instant and long lasting results. Patients are drawn to its high end cutting edge technology which is combined with traditional skin care techniques. It is a great mix of a medical grade treatment with a luxurious spa like feel.

So what’s the hype? It’s all in the tip. Unlike traditional microdermabrasions which use a dry method either with crystals or a diamond head tip, the hydrafacial exfoliates using 3 different tips all ranging in texture and suction. Each tip has a designated peel or serum that is simultaneously infused into the skin acting as a vortex penetrating into the deeper layers of the epidermis. While the dead skin is removed the serums are able to fully absorb into the skin to treat concerns such as aging, brightening, clogged pores and more. There are 4 main solutions used during a basic hydrafacial along with skin prepping and cleansing and there are many enhancements that can be added to the treatment. LED light therapy is also included right in the machine as well as a lymphatic drainage for the face and body. Neck and decollete can be treated, and if you looking for a more aggressive treatment specific tips can be used. The level of suction is determined by the professional as well as the level of peel used. The glory of this treatment is there is truly no downtime and clients can see and feel a dramatic change in their skin. Dermaplaning, which has grown popularity over the years can also be added before hydrafacial and truly takes it that next level in skin health.

Skin penetrating solutions

Activ-4= Lactic acid and Glucosamine exfoliate and soften the skin for better absorption of peels and treatment serums.

PEELS= Three types of peels to choose from all a blend of salicylic and glycolic. 7.5%, 15% and 30% when the peel is infused into the skin it doubles the amount of acid percentage. Your provider will determine which is best for you and the 30% can only be used in a physician based medical setting depending on your state regulations. Still little to no visible peeling or sheeting of skin. In some cases a dryness in a few days may occur due to the cell turnover.

BETA-HD= A beta hydroxy acid (similar to salicylic) is used in congested areas such as the T-Zone to loosen and clean out blackheads, and clogging. Think of a vacuum that sucks out all the gunk while cleaning it out at the same time! You can see the buildup come right up and out through the tip and into the waste container.

Specialty Boosters= These can be added to any treatment to enhance or target an area of concern for the patient.

ANTIOX + = Packed with Antioxidants, Peptides and Hyaluronic acid this serums is what gives that hydrafacial glow! This serum is saturated into the skin leaving it hydrated and renewed. Pro-tip use it on the lips for an added boost of hydration for a temporary plump pout!

LED LIGHTS = Blue and Red light LED therapy is used to lock in products that are used in treatments. Medical studies have proven that the Red light helps with inflammation and wound healing as well as the stimulation in collagen growth. The Blue has been used for many years in dermatology offices as a stand alone treatment for acne. The Blue light kills the P. acnes bacteria (acne causing bacteria) stopping breakouts in their tracks and preventing new ones from coming up. Each are in a hand held form so easy to use or spot treat.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE= Helps promote good blood flow circulation, remove toxic waste and can minimize inflammation and swelling. Great for post surgical procedures for the face and body.

DERMAPLANE and MASKS = These treatments can also be added to the hydrafacial treatment. In our office Hydrafacial and dermaplane is our most popular along with the CTGF (growth factor serum) for maximum anti age benefits.

While Hydrafacial is a great treatment for most there are some contraindications that should be considered such as allergies to aspirin, pregnancies, antibiotics, and or topical skin care prescriptions. Cystic acne is not suitable for this treatment as it can aggravate and make it worse. It is always best to consult your skin care provider to come up with the best treatment plan for your skin concerns and provide realistic expectations.
